WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J – The Sacred Heart University women's tennis team defeated the Hawks of Monmouth University Wednesday afternoon, 5-2. The trio of Katsiaryna Starastenka, Vitalie Golod, and Flavia Rambalidi finished the day undefeated for the Pioneers.  

The duo of Kim Fenton and Golod opened the day with a 6-4 victory over the Hawks at No. 1 doubles, followed by Ciara O'Toole and Staratsenka, who clinched the 6-3 doubles victory at the No. 2 slot. At No. 3, Aina Garriga and Rambaldi closed out doubles action with the 6-3 victory.  

In singles play, Starastsenka, Golod, Rambaldi, and Kharkover claimed victories for the Pioneers to bring the final score 5-2. Starastsenka won at No. 1 singles after defeating her opponent by the scores of 6-3 and 6-0, while Golod secured her second win of the day after forcing a third set, which resulted in a 10-4 victory, following a 6-2 win in set two.  

Rambaldi won at No. 4 singles as she defeated her Monmouth's Ximena Cano, 6-4, 6-0. Olivia Kharkover finished the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Jordan Pax at No. 6 singles.
