WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Sacred Heart men's tennis team fell to Monmouth in the first and only fall dual match of the year Wednesday afternoon.
Lefteri Apostolou picked up the win in the No. 1 spot after defeating his opponent in a three-set thriller. Apostolou stumbled in the first set 3-6, but rallied back to claim the next two, 7-5 and 10-8.
Matyas Vencl came close in No. 2 singles as he forced another three-set thriller but came up short.
In doubles play, the Pioneers were unable to top the Hawks for a win.
