WEST WINDSOR, N.J.— The No. 2 Sacred Heart University women's tennis team defeated No. 3 FDU, 4-0, to advance to its first Northeast Conference championship in program history on Saturday.
The Pioneers took the doubles point on wins from the teams of
Katsiaryna Starastsenka/
Olivia Kharkover and
Aina Garriga/
Ciara O'Toole.
Starastsenka and Golod clinched victories in straight sets at Nos. 1 through 2 singles. Kharkover won the first set at in a tiebreaker before clinching the victory at No. 3 in straight sets.
SHU will face No. 1 LIU in the title game on Sunday at 1 p.m.
