FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Sacred Heart University men's volleyball was back at the Pitt Center Friday night, defeating NEC foe St Francis Brooklyn in three sets 33-31, 25-13, 25-19. The Pioneers and the Terriers would match each other point for point in the first set before kills from
Mark Berry and
Carlos Santa Cruz sealed the set victory. The red and white jumped out to a 17-9 lead in the second set before closing on an 8-4 run to win the second set 25-13. The intensity of the third set matched that of the first, as the squads traded points up until 17-6 in favor of SHU when the Pioneers took the next four points. The Terriers would close it to a 21-19 gap before the Pioneers closed the game on a vital kill from
Patrick Mucherino and a Terrier attack error.
