Jake Ward led the Pioneers with three goals and one assist.

Stony Brook got the scoring going in the opening quarter, but Sacred Heart scored back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead at 10:45. The Seawolves answered and tied it up at 2-2, but
Jake Ward put the Pioneers back in the lead, 3-2, with a goal at 7:14. Stony Brook went on to score three more times in the quarter to take a 5-3 advantage after the first.
In the second quarter, the Pioneers pulled themselves within one, 5-4, from a tally from
Jake Garb, but that would be the only goal of the quarter for Sacred Heart. Stony Brook went on to take a 9-4 lead at halftime.
Sacred Heart opened the third quarter with back-to-back goals from
Carson Spooner and
Sal Miccio to cut the deficit to three, 9-6. Stony Brook went us by as many as five goals in the third, but the Pioneers kept at it, ending the third quarter with a 12-8 deficit.
Sacred Heart outscored Stony Brook 4-3 in the final quarter, but the Seawolves had solidified their lead early, taking the 15-12 final.
Junior goalkeeper
Alex Pazienza made a career-high 18 saves between the pipes for the Pioneers.
