Men's Basketball Hosts Boston University on Saturday

SHU and Boston University meet for the first time

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team takes on Boston University for the first time ever, on Saturday, December 2, at 2:00 pm. The Pioneers will play their second straight home game after falling to New Hampshire on Thursday evening.

  • Sacred Heart fell 90-84 at home to New Hampshire on Thursday evening.
  • Nico Galette matched his career-high with 27 points while adding 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. 
  • Galette led four players in double figures, Alex Sobel had 15 points, Joey Reilly tallied 13 points, and Kyle McGee put away 12 points. 
  • Sobel and Raheem Solomon each had two blocks and Sobel was second on the team in rebounds.
  • Galette was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

  • Galette was named this week's NEC Player of the Week and Thomas collected the honor the week before.  
  • The team voted Galette, Reilly, and McGee to be captains of the 2023-24 squad.  
  • The Pios were selected first in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. Galette and Reilly were selected to the All-NEC preseason team. Both Galette and Reilly earned All-NEC first and third-team honors last season, respectively.
