Sacred Heart Preps for Sunday Matchup at Stonehill

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball team continues conference play against a new Northeast Conference opponent in Stonehill. Tipoff is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. on NEC Front Row.
 
OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart faces Stonehill for the first time since 1996, back when it played at Division II. The Skyhawks hold a 17-1 advantage in the overall series. The Pioneers lone win came in 1992 with a 75-69 overtime thriller.
  • Sacred Heart begins conference play 1-0 after picking up a 63-53 victory against LIU on Friday. Sajada Bonner (15), Ny'Ceara Pryor (14) and Carly Stroemel (11) scored in double-figures.
  • Sacred Heart leads the NEC in combined rebounds with 36.2 per game and is second in offensive rebounds with 11.8 per game.
  • Ny'Ceara Pryor is a five-time NEC Rookie of the Week honoree. The guard leads Sacred Heart with 16.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.3 steals per game in her inaugural college season. Pryor is the leader in the NEC and the nation in steals and steals per game.
  • Carly Stroemel leads the NEC in blocks per game (1.5) and total blocks (18). The senior is nationally ranked 80th in blocks per game and 94th in total blocks.
