RINDGE, N.H. — After a scoreless first period, the Sacred Heart University women's ice hockey team dropped a 2-0 contest in the NEWHA Semifinals at Franklin Pierce on Friday.
With six and half minutes remaining in the second period, the host team found the back of the net with an off-the-post goal to get on the board.. FPU tallied an insurance goal at 17:43 in the final period from the top of the left circle.
The Pioneers fired 23 shots with
Cassandra Nevers leading the charge with five, while the Ravens took 25.
In the shed,
Frankie Sanchez caught 23 saves with 11 coming in the opening period.
The Red & White finish fourth in the NEWHA standings with a 16-15-2 overall record and 10-8-2 in the conference.
