FAIRFIELD, Conn.- The Sacred Heart University equestrian team heads to Hanover, N.H. to compete in the 2022 Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference North Regional Championship on Saturday. Dartmouth's Morton Farm will serve as the host site.

SHU is seeded first with Dartmouth second and SUNY New Paltz seeded third with the teams competing in a round-robin styled two-day championship. The team with the best record of the two days will be crowned the ECAC North Champion and will punch their ticket to Nationals in Ocala, Florida at the World Equestrian Center April 14-16.

The Pioneers first season in National Collegiate Equestrian Association and ECAC meets has resulted in a record of 2-3 and the teams currently sits third nationally among NCEA single discipline teams and first in the ECAC Northeast Region.

During the regular season, SHU picked up a pair of wins against SUNY New Paltz and Bridgewater College winning by scores of 5-3 and 8-0, respectively.
Hanna Lloyd has been the top rider for the Pioneers as she scored a 93 in flat against SUNY New Platz to earn Most Outstanding Performer of the meet.
