Sacred Heart Hosts FDU on Senior Night

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— The Sacred Heart University women's basketball wraps up the regular season as it hosts FDU at the Pitt Center on Thursday. The game also marks Senior Night for five members of the Pioneers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. with Paul Dottino and Pam Roecker on the call. 

OPENING TIP

  • Thursday's contest marks Senior Night for five seniors: Adrianne Hagood, Nikki Johnson, Olivia Martino, Asia McCray and four-year manager Joe Campanella.
  • The result of Thursday's game will determine Sacred Heart's seeding for the Northeast Conference Tournament. The Pioneers are currently tied with Bryant for 7th in the standings. If both teams lose their regular season finale, Sacred Heart will be the 8th seed and host the first round at the Pitt Center. If Sacred Heart wins and Bryant loses, the Pioneers will be the 7th seed and play on the road at St. Francis Brooklyn.
  • The Pioneers hold an undefeated 20-0 record at home against the Knights. The last time Sacred Heart won against FDU was on January 25, 2020 at the Pitt Center.
  • Sacred Heart is second in the NEC and 71th nationally in the fewest turnovers with 374, with the lowest amount committed at a season-low (6) at Saint Francis on February 26.
  • The Pioneers are third in the conference and 67th nationally on defense in three-point field goal percentage at 28.4%.
