The Sacred Heart University men's basketball team takes a short trip to Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday for a 1 p.m. tip on NEC Front Row.

OPENING TIP

  • Sacred Heart edged FDU, 77-71, at home in the teams' first meeting this year. Both Tyler Thomas (24) and Aaron Clarke (21) led with 20-point performances while Clarke also hurdled the 1,000 point mark in the process. Nico Galette also posted a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
  • The Knights look to snap a three-game losing streak after dropping a 75-68 decision at home on Thursday night.
  • Junior Tyler Thomas now sits just 86 points away from the 1,000 point mark after a 16-point game against Bryant.
  • The Pioneers have taken four of the last five meetings against the Knights after splitting the series a year ago. Of those five meetings, only one has been on FDU's home court. The last time SHU fell at the Rothman Center was in 2019, 81-63.

OKAY NICO
Sophomore Nico Galette has posted double-digit scoring performances in seven of the first ten NEC games including a career-high 20 points at LIU. Galette boasts the second-most double-doubles in the NEC as he grabbed his second-straight at Bryant. The Rahway, N.J. product now has six on the year and trails Bryant's Charles Pride who has eight. Galette is also the top rebounded in the conference at 8.6 a night and a total of 198.

FREE MONEY
Sacred Heart finds success when getting to the free throw line. When making less free throws than it's opponent, SHU is 1-9, and 7-6 when hitting more. Senior Aaron Clarke also posts the best free throw shooting percentage in the conference at 88.2% and ranks 28th nationally.
