Sacred Heart Hosts Bryant for Pride Game

FAIRFIELD, Conn.— After being on the road the last three games, the Sacred Heart University women's basketball team returns to the Pitt Center for its Pride Game against Bryant on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on NEC Front Row with Randy Brochu and Asia McCray on the call.
 
OPENING TIP
  • Sacred Heart and Bryant will meet for the 29th time overall and the first time as non-conference foes since 1980.
  • The Pioneers lead the series 21-7 and are 12-3 at home against the Bulldogs.
  • Bryant recently left the Northeast Conference this year to join the American East Conference. Sacred Heart looks for its first win against an opponent in the conference since 2018.
  • The Pioneers are second in the Northeast Conference in offensive rebounds with 13.0 per game and third in rebounds overall at 37.1.
  • Ny'Ceara Pryor is a three-time NEC Rookie of the Week honoree. The guard is leading Sacred Heart with 14.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 4.3 steals per game in her inaugural college season. Pryor also leads the nation and NEC with 34 steals.
  • Carly Stroemel leads the NEC in blocks (11) and blocks per game (1.4).
  • Mannetti is in her 10th season as head coach. She holds a 128-140 (.478) overall record and 95-67 (.586) in NEC play.
  • Sacred Heart was picked to finish sixth in the NEC Preseason Poll.
