The contest went through nine lead changes and four ties. At the start of the fourth quarter, Army tallied seven unanswered points to take the 40-34 lead. Senior Carly Stroemel scored 11 of Sacred Heart's next 13 points to bring the Pioneers back in front, 45-42.

Graduate student Sajada Bonner converted a three-point play at the 3:41 mark to give SHU a 48-44 lead. Unfortunately, SHU would not score the rest of the game and Ny'Ceara Pryor's buzzer-beater missed the mark.

Sacred Heart held Army without a field goal in the first quarter as the Pioneers got out to a 16-4 lead. The Black Knights returned the favor and pulled within 21-17 at the half as SHU was 2-of-12 in the second quarter.

Stroemel led with a season-high 13 points and matched her career-high four blocks. Pryor finished in double-figures for the eighth time this season with 11 and led the Pioneers with four steals.
