NEWARK, N.J. – Through the early part of the season, the Sacred Heart University divers have been leading the charge. Going up against Northeast Conference foes LIU and Howard, junior Olivia Howard won both diving events and broke the school record in the three-meter event.

A week after having her one-meter record broken, McNicholas took down Molly Martin's three-meter mark. The Hicksville, NY native bested the record by .30 with a winning score of 244.90.

Sacred Heart swept the three-meter competition as junior Natalie Carbone placed second with a tally of 232.15 that moved her up to number three in SHU history. Rookie Regan Santoro was third at 220.45.

SHU was one-two in the one-meter competition with McNicholas recording a career-best winning tally of 241.90 that is second all-time at SHU. She bested teammate Lola Barrett, who came in second at 221.90.

Rookie Charlotte Kaduson produced a pair of top-four finishes, taking second in the 1,000 free in 10:55.03. She came back to post a fourth-place time of 5:22.52 in the 500 free. Also, in the 1000 free, sophomore Chambers was third at 11:17.82.

The Pioneers had three more top-three finishes. Sophomore Melanie Sanchez was third in the 200 butterfly at 2:12.75. In the 100 free, rookie Emma Davis touched the wall in 55.27. Davis, Emma McCall, Kelly Barnett and Grace Bergstrom teamed up to take third in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:41.31

The Pioneers lost to the Sharks and Bison, but team scores were not finalized after the meet as LIU had swimmers who were entered into too many events.

The Pioneers travel to Sienna on Saturday for a 12 p.m. dual meet with the Saints.
