The Pioneers are on the road Saturday at Duquesne for a 12 p.m. kickoff.Â
Of Note:
The Red Flash scored on their first five drives including starting at the four-yard line on one drive after SHU fumbled the kickoff. Saint Francis had 34-0 lead before the Pioneers got on the board.
Â
Sacred Heart found the endzone right before the half.
Malik Grant rushed for 48 yards on the drive and caught a four-yard touchdown pass from
Marquez McCray.
Â
SHU cut into the lead with another touchdown coming out of the break. Grant rushed for another 54 yards and scored from five yards out.
Â
Unfortunately, that was the last time SHU would score as the Red Flash added 10 insurance points in the fourth quarter.
Â
Saint Francis had a 568-to-313 advantage in total yards, including 304 on the ground.
Â
Grant crossed the 100-yard mark for the fifth time this season.
Â
Half of
DeAndre Byrd's six tackles were for a loss as the linebacker was the team's leading tackler.
Â
The loss snapped Sacred Heart's 13-game winning streak – which dated back to the 2019 season – which was the third-longest in the FCS.
