Box Score AMHERST, Mass. – Three Pioneers found the net and Justin Robbins stopped 27 of 29 shots as Sacred Heart skated to a 3-2 victory over UMass at the Mullins Center in a pre-season contest.
 
Captain Braeden Tuck had a goal and an assist, while John Jaworski and Chickara Hanzawa also tallied in a game the visitors led 2-0 early against the 2021 national champions.
 
"We played a very good hockey team tonite," said SHU Head Coach CJ Marottolo. "Umass is well coached and was hard and heavy on the puck.  I thought our guys played with great effort and poise.  We will continue to build on the positives and will continue to work on the areas in our game that need to get better."
 
Neil Shea, Tim Clifton and Logan Britt added assists for a Sacred Heart squad that returns home tonight and faces Western Ontario Sunday at 4 p.m. at Total Mortgage Arena.
