FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A pending winter storm shuffled the weekend plans for the Sacred Heart University men's volleyball team. Instead of playing in Springfield, the Pioneers were back in the Pitt Center where they swept Lasell, 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-13) on Friday.

Sacred Heart was down 13-11 in the first set before
Patrick Mucherino turned the tables almost single-handedly. He came through with a kill then served five-straight points, including two aces, to flip the set 17-13 in SHU's favor.Â

The Pioneers went on a 5-1 run midway through the second set then started the third sanaa with a 7-1 stretch on their way to sweeping the match.

Sacred Heart hit .342 – including .417 in the third set - while holding the Lasers to a .129 rate. That was helped by SHU's 25-13 advantage in digs.

Topping all players for the second match in the row was Mucerino with 12 kills along with a trio of aces and blocks.
Mark Berry followed with nine kills and
Ife Loverton produced five blocks.
