Box Score WORCESTER, Mass. — With back-to-back wins, the Sacred Heart University men's tennis program shutout Holy Cross, 7-0, on Wednesday. The Pioneers improved to 2-6 overall and the Crusaders dropped 0-5.
SHU split the first two doubles matches with Holy Cross, after the Pioneers' Kevin Chao and Lucca Casalduc-Pla tallied the first team point at number two singles. With the doubles play tied, No. 3 duo Lefteri Apostolou and Tyler Lowe secured the final point following a 6-4 victory over Holy Cross' Matt Fagan and John McTernan.
The Red and White dominated the solo action and won all six matchups. Apostolou won both his matchups and led off the team at number four singles with a 6-0 and 6-1 victory. Following their partner victory, Chao and Casalduc-Pla won at No. 3 and No. 5, respectively, and went 2-0 on the day.
The team travels to NJIT on April 9 for a 2:30 p.m. matchup.
