Midway through the second quarter Marie-Laeticia Ziba drained a three-pointer to put Pioneers up 27-20. Adrianne Hagood made two free throws to send SHU into the half with a 35-30 lead.
The third quarter was a back-and-forth affair with the hosts taking a 52-48 lead into the final frame. A Nikki Johnson layup with 6:45 to play pulled SHU within 55-53, but that's as close the Pioneers would get the rest of the way.

The majority of SHU's points came from Johnson and Hagood as they combined for 40 of SHU's 66 points. Johnson led all players with 21 points while Hagood followed with 19.
