ANDOVER, Mass.- A 14-0 event sweep led to a rousing first win for the Sacred Heart University Swimming and Diving program as they defeated Merrimack by a final score of 138-94.

Highlights 

• Senior captain Emily Peter led the way for SHU tallying 18 points and claiming first place in the three events she swam in including the 50-yard free with a time of 28.18, the 100-yard free with a time of 56.30, and part of the 200-yard medley winning relay with a team overall time of 1:55.19.
• Junior Nicole Tingley had an impressive swim with a first-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly as she touched the wall with a time of 2.15:18.
• First-year Kate Bell, junior Grace Bergstrom, first-year Casi Glejzer, and sophomore Jillian Pusateri each earned their first career victories.
• Bell took first in the 1000 free with a time of 11:21.86 while Bergstrom claimed first in the 200-yard free with a touch time of 2:05.87, Glejzer took first in the solo 200-yard backstroke while also aiding in the first place victory in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.19. Pusateri picked up her first-place victory in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:14.04.
• Sophomore Casey Barrett picked up first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:01.12.
