- Senior goalie Josh Benson made his first appearance in net since October 9.
- The Pioneers would jump on the board first in the closing seconds of the opening period as senior Todd Goehring would score his second goal of the year off assists by first-year Connor Hutchison and junior Neil Shea.
- Hutchison's assist would be his first collegiate point.
- After Air Force tied the game up at 1-1 in the second period, junior Patrick Dawson would tip in his first goal of the year off assists by Todd Goehring and John Jaworski to put the Pioneers ahead 2-1.
- SHU sealed the game with the team's first short-handed goal of the year off the stick of junior Kevin Lombardi with 13:33 left in game to result in the 3-1 victory.
