RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Sacred Heart women's lacrosse team dropped a 13-4 decision on the road to Manhattan College on Saturday afternoon from Gaelic Park. The Pioneers fall to 0-4 on the season while the Jaspers move to 5-1 in 2019.

First Half (10-1 MAN)

• The Jaspers dominated this one from the start, scoring the first 10 goals of the game
• Sydney Ericson scored her first of the season, off a feed from Lydia Werlau, with 3:21 left in the half to break up the 10-0 Manhattan run
• Freshman goalkeeper Shana Hecht did her best to keep the Pioneers in the game, recording 10 of her 11 saves on the afternoon in the first half alone
• Manhattan dominated the shot totals 23-3 in the first half

Second Half (13-4 MAN)

• After the Jaspers tacked on two more to begin the second half, the Pioneers settled down throughout the remainder of the second half and scored three of the final four goals on the afternoon
• Hanna Wise scored her team-leading sixth and seventh goals of the season midway through the second half
• Cassie Cesario found the back of the net with 6:55 remaining for her second goal of the day, coming off a feed from Caroline Wax

NOTES

• Wise led the SHU offense with two goals on five shots
• Cesario tallied two points (one goal, one assist) to go along with four ground balls and two caused turnovers
• Nicole Holder tied with Cesario with a game-high two caused turnovers
• Werlau and Wax added one assist apiece
• Claire McElhenny tied for a game-high with three draw controls
• Elizabeth Small posted two ground balls and one draw control on the defensive end
• Hecht tallied 11 saves (10 goals allowed) in her 43+ minutes of action
• This marked the third time in four starts this season for Hecht that the freshman keeper has racked up double digit save totals
• Amy Cadle came on in relief for the final 16:54 of play and made one save (three goals allowed)

NEXT GAME
The Pioneers are back in action with two home games next week, starting with a midweek clash with Iona on Wednesday (3 PM) followed by a Saturday doubleheader with the men's lacrosse team as the women take on UMass Lowell at 3 PM.
