The Turning Point
Wagner scored on its opening possession, as a 65-yard touchdown run by Ryan Fulse put the Seahawks ahead 7-0 2:02 into the game. Khaamal Whitaker intercepted Luke Massei at the Sacred Heart one yardline with 8:07 to play. On the next play, however, the Seahawks recovered a fumble in the Pioneers' endzone for a touchdown and a 14-0 lead. SHU cut the deficit to five by halftime, getting a three-yard touchdown pass from Duke to Trimble-Edwards, and a 43-yard field goal by Josh Freiria. Wagner scored 14 straight points in the third quarter to take a 28-9 lead.
