Final Stats

FAIRFIELD, CT - Senior Jarell Brown poured in a game-high 29 points and six rebounds to lead the Army Black Knights to a 64-49 win over Sacred Heart University in the Pioneer's home opener Monday night.

Sacred Heart, 0-2, took an early 16-7 on the strength of early threes by sophomore Chauncey Hardy (Middletown, CT) and Corey Hassan (Merrimack, NH). The Pioneers went ice cold for the remainder of the period and found themselves trailing 28-24 at the intermission.

Army, 1-1, kept the Pioneers down at the start of the second half and opened up as high as a 25-point margin with 7:04 to play.

Junior Kenny Brewer also scored in double figures for the Pioneers with 13 points.

Sophomore Ryan Litke (Windsor, CT) led the Pioneers with ten points. Hardy finished with nine. SHU finished shooting just 36 percent from the field (17-47) and just 4-22 from three-point range (4-22).

The Pioneers will be in action again on Wednesday night at the University of Hartford at 7 p.m.
