LORETTO, Pa. (AP) - Jarrid Frye scored 22 points and Sacred Heart rallied in the closing minutes to hand St. Francis, Pa., its 10th straight loss Saturday night, 72-64.
Sacred Heart (10-8, 6-1 Northeast Conference) jumped out to a 12-2 lead but saw St. Francis (4-15, 1-7) stay close the rest of the way.
The Red Flash took a 56-53 edge on J.R. Enright's jump hook with 5:59 remaining. The Pioneers answered with a 9-1 run, taking the lead for good, 58-57, on an offensive rebound and putback by Brice Brooks with 4:19 to go.
Joey Henley followed with a bucket, then Frye hit two free throws to push the margin to 62-57. Sacred Heart sealed the win on a layup by Henley and two free throws by Chauncy Hardy in the final 26 seconds.
Hardy scored 16 points for the Pioneers, who have won three in a row. Chris Berry led St. Francis with 18 points, while Marquis Ford added 15. The longest losing streak in Red Flash history is 12 games, which occurred last season when the team finished 4-24.
